Loaded Bloody Mary Recipe - Crab Legs, Shrimp, Boudin Balls
Baby, this ain’t your hotel brunch Bloody Mary.
This is a Louisiana church brunch, Saints tailgate, and Sunday seafood boil all in one glass. Nana’s Louisiana Bloody Mary starts with a spicy Cajun tomato base and ends with a whole seafood tower on top.
Crab legs. Gulf shrimp. Boudin balls. Pickles, olives, lemon, lime. If it fits on a skewer, it goes on top.
This is the drink you make when family comes over and you want their jaws on the floor. One sip and they’ll say "Nana, you outdid yourself."

In a shaker or mason jar, combine tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, horseradish, Worcestershire, hot sauce, Cajun seasoning, celery salt, and pepper. Shake hard 20 seconds. Taste. Want more heat? Add it now.
Step 3: Build the Drink
Strain mix into your chilled glass over fresh ice.
Step 4: Build the Tower
This is the fun part. Thread boudin balls, shrimp, sausage, pickles, olives onto long skewers. Balance crab legs + lobster tail across the top. Stick celery in. Hang shrimp on rim. Add lemon + lime.
Step 5: Serve Immediately
With extra napkins. And a spoon. This is a meal.
Nana's Kitchen Tips
1. Chill everything.
Cold tomato juice and cold glasses make it better. Warm Bloody Mary is a sin. Stick your glasses in the freezer 15 min before guests arrive.

2. Spice to taste.
Nana likes it fiery. PawPaw likes it mild. Add more hot sauce or Cajun seasoning if you like it hot. Start with less - you can add but you can’t take out.
3. Make it virgin.
Skip vodka and add a splash of pickle juice or olive brine. Still delicious. Perfect for church brunch. Kids and PawPaw love the virgin version.
How to Serve & Store
How to Serve:
This IS the main event. Serve with deviled eggs, bacon-wrapped jalapeños, boiled shrimp, crackers, and cheese on the side. Set up a "garnish bar" and let folks build their own tower.
It goes perfect with gumbo, jambalaya, or fried chicken. But honestly? This IS Sunday morning.

How to Store:
Mix the base up to 3 days ahead. Keep in mason jar in fridge. Shake before pouring. Do NOT add ice until serving or it gets watery.
Garnishes: Boil shrimp and steam crab day-of. Boudin balls can be made ahead and reheated in air fryer 3 min.
Leftover Bloody Mary mix? Nana uses it in shrimp Creole the next day. Waste not. [Here is Nana's Shrimp Creole Recipe]
From Nana’s Kitchen:
If you bring this to brunch, don’t plan on making anything else. This is the show.
Make the mix ahead, set out the garnishes, and let everybody build their own. It’s messy, it’s loud, and it’s exactly how we do Sunday in Louisiana.
And for heaven’s sake, use Gulf shrimp. Farm-raised from overseas don’t taste right in Nana’s glass.
