Dat Kitchen Too in Waveland, MS: "Good Ole' Southern Cookin'" That Won't Break $20

Every time we head to the Gulf Coast, we make it a point to stop at Dat Kitchen Too at 714 US-90 in Waveland, MS. It’s not fancy. It’s not trendy. It’s just good.

"Good Ole' Southern Cookin'" done right, with big portions and prices that make you smile.

  • Name: Dat Kitchen Too Restaurant
  • Address: 714 US-90, Waveland, MS 39576

  • What to order: People rave about their fried chicken, meatloaf, catfish, and the daily blue plate specials. Don’t skip the sides!

If you see this gator on Hwy 90, you’re close. This is where the magic happens!

What We Ordered & The Price

We got 2 adult plates and dessert and as usual we didn’t break a $20 bill to eat here!

Now THIS is "Good Ole' Southern Cookin'"!

The meatloaf plate at Dat Kitchen Too never misses. Tender meatloaf smothered in gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and a warm roll on the side. Add a little Cajun Chef Sport Peppers if you’re feeling spicy 🌶️

Meatloaf: Hearty, homemade, and smothered in gravy. Just like mama used to make.

Mashed Potatoes & Corn: Creamy potatoes and sweet buttered corn.

Dinner Roll: Soft and warm on the side.

Dessert - Lemon Cake: Oh my goodness. This moist lemon cake with that thick yellow frosting was the perfect sweet finish. Light, tangy, and absolutely worth saving room for!

Sweet Tea: Because you can’t have Southern food without it!

You know it’s gonna be a good day when Nana says “Let’s make a day of it!”

That means sunscreen, snacks, good company, and of course — don’t forget the kite!

Dat Kitchen Too is proud of where their seafood comes from!

This sign says:
"WE Proudly SERVE DOMESTIC WILD CAUGHT SHRIMP - Provided by Pincher's Seafood"

When a restaurant tells you upfront they use local, wild-caught Gulf shrimp, you know the food’s gonna be fresh.

That’s the kind of care that makes Southern cooking taste like home.

They Use the Good Stuff

One thing I love about Dat Kitchen Too is they’re proud of where their food comes from. This sign in the window says it all: "We Proudly Serve Domestic Wild Caught Shrimp" from Pincher's Seafood.

You can taste the difference in Gulf Coast cooking when they use local, wild-caught seafood.

It’s that extra care that makes us drive to Waveland for it!

Big portions. Fair prices. Friendly folks. The dining room is simple and the food is the star.

If you’re on the Gulf Coast and craving comfort food that tastes like home, put Dat Kitchen Too on your list. We drive from Pearl River just for this and it’s worth every mile.

2 plates + dessert and we’re still under $20! You won’t find that everywhere.

Planning a beach day after your meal? Don’t head out without my list!
