Dat Kitchen Too in Waveland, MS:

"Good Ole' Southern Cookin'" That Won't Break $20

Every time we head to the Gulf Coast, we make it a point to stop at Dat Kitchen Too at 714 US-90 in Waveland, MS.

It's not fancy. It's not trendy. It's just good. Nana definitely gives this one A++++ 10/10!!!

"Good Ole' Southern Cookin'" done right, with big portions and prices that make you smile.

Name: Dat Kitchen Too Restaurant
Address: 714 US-90, Waveland, MS 39576 [Google Map HERE]
Phone: 228-467-7242

What to order:

People rave about the fried chicken, meatloaf, catfish, and the daily blue plate specials. Don't skip the sides.

You can't miss it — that bright teal awning and the big yellow gator sign let you know you're about to eat good. The windows even have pretty swamp and cypress tree murals,

so Southern.

What We Ordered & The Price

We got 2 adult plates and dessert, and as usual we didn't break a $20 bill to eat here.

Meatloaf: Hearty, homemade, and smothered in gravy. Just like mama used to make.

Mashed Potatoes & Corn: Creamy potatoes and sweet buttered corn.

Dinner Roll: Soft and warm on the side.

Dessert — Lemon Cake: Oh my goodness. This moist lemon cake with thick yellow frosting was the perfect sweet finish — light, tangy, and absolutely worth saving room for.

Sweet Tea: Because you can't have Southern food without it.

The meatloaf plate at Dat Kitchen Too never misses. Tender meatloaf smothered in gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, sweet corn, and a warm roll on the side.

Add a little Cajun Chef Sport Peppers if you're feeling spicy  - Always on the table.

They Use the Good Stuff

One thing we love about Dat Kitchen Too is they're proud of where their food comes from. A sign in the window says it plainly: "We Proudly Serve Domestic Wild Caught Shrimp" from Pincher's Seafood.

You can taste the difference in Gulf Coast cooking when a kitchen uses local, wild-caught seafood instead of the cheaper imported stuff most places default to.

It's that extra care that makes us drive to Waveland for it.   A++++ 10/10!!!

Big portions. Fair prices. Friendly folks. The dining room is simple, and the food is the star.
