NanaTee’s Kitchen Cabinet: Mushroom Coffee + Essential Oils I Actually Use

Published on July 21, 2026 at 5:27 PM

I’ve been a Certified Aromatherapist since 2013.

Since then, people have shown up at my kitchen table asking the same thing:

“NanaTee, what do you actually use?”

Not what’s trending. Not what has 20 ingredients.

What’s in my cabinet right now?

So I cleaned it out and made a list.

THE TOOTHBRUSH RULE FOR WELLNESS

My Aunt Corrine scrubbed every blue crab with a toothbrush. Her rule: If you won’t eat it, don’t serve it.

I have the same rule for wellness. If I won’t use it on Pawpaw or myself, I don’t recommend it.

Everything on this list passed.

1. Dose Mushroom Coffee
Why it’s in my cabinet: I loved Community Coffee. Still do. But cup #3 made my stomach say “enough, sha.” Dose replaced it. No jitters. No crash at 2pm.
NanaTee’s Rule: Start with half a scoop. I’m 57, not 27. You don’t need a full dose to feel it.

2. Lavender Essential Oil
Why it’s in my cabinet: This is what goes on Pawpaw’s pillow when his bad knee keeps him up. I’ve used it since 2013. It’s what I recommend to every new mom at church.
NanaTee’s Rule: 2 drops on a cotton ball by the bed. Not on your skin undiluted. We’re not 20 anymore.

3. Peppermint Essential Oil
Why it’s in my cabinet: Hurricane season headaches. Barometric pressure changes. One drop rubbed on my temples with coconut oil. That’s my Gulf Coast trick.
NanaTee’s Rule: Keep it away from the grandbabies’ faces. Peppermint is strong. One drop only.

WHY I CAN TELL YOU THIS

I’m Tina, a Certified Aromatherapist. I studied this. I’ve used oils since 2013.

But I’m not a doctor.

These are my personal favorites for everyday support. What works for my house might not work for yours. Talk to your healthcare provider before you change anything. Especially if you take medicine or you’re pregnant.

I only link what’s on my counter right now. If I run out, I re-order it. If Pawpaw fusses about it, it doesn’t make the list.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. That means when you buy your Dose through my link, you help me keep these stories and recipes free. Merci for that.

YOUR TURN, SHA

Pull up a chair. Let’s do wellness like family.

With love, a little Tony’s, and a lot of peppermint,

Important Note: Essential oils are powerful. Dilute properly. Keep away from kids and pets.
